The Journey
Premium Indiana bourbon arrived on shores in 190L American oak barrels. As the bourbon was transferred, we filled the barrels with selected Grand Australian Tawny. Aged for at least 6 months, our skilled team ensured the perfect blend of flavours through regular tastings every 2 weeks. This distinguished addition broadens our exclusive Tawny portfolio and extends an exquisite invitation to those seeking to discover the nuanced world of bourbon.
The Flavour
Complex flavours on the palate such as caramel, vanilla, fruitcake, and an abundance of sweet spice notes. The small format barrel has a profound influence, amplifying the tawny’s character with exotic bourbon notes: delicate interplay of charred wood, rye, and toasted malt characters emerge, entwining harmoniously with the tawny’s essence to create a perfect union.

Crafted in limited quantity, only 60 barrels were created as this unique fusion. A truly exciting gift for both Bourbon and Fortified wine enthusiasts, this offering allows you to savour the temptation of both worlds. It’s a journey that invites you to appreciate the artistry that threads through every drop, showcasing the blending techniques that set this creation apart.

The Galway 25 YO Rare Tawny project has been in the making over many years, drawing on our expansive selection of rare batches and barrels. Since 2012, the program in our barrel rooms have aimed to preserve our best older components, further aging liquid for many years to provide us with tawny with further complexity or richness. Giving our customers a the best quality product we can produce.
Galway Pipe has always been brand in Australia synonymous with quality fortified wine. Our 12 YO Grand Tawny has been a celebrated far and wide for its consistency of quality. This new addition of our 25 YO is part of our pursuit to bring the highest quality tawny we can supply to our customers, a product that is an experience in itself.
Australia’s temperate climate, mirroring aspects of Spain and Portugal, gives us exceptional growing conditions to utilise old world varieties like Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Palomino.
By ensuring our fruit is adequately ripened and possessing complex, rich flavours, we are able to produce phenomenal wine here in Australia. From a wine making perspective, blending is the most important aspect of our hard work. Not only what we select from our barrel inventory, but what is excluded and that is part of our key to producing a quality wine.
